A pen in white or pink gold designed by Montegrappa which the client may have engraved with whatever he or she would most desire: the portrait of a loved one, the secret symbol of an enagement, or any subject which has special significance for only one person. Or two.

Portrait Pen is an 18K white or pink gold fountain pen with an oval space reserved on the barrel which each customer can have embellished with a decoration of their choice - a picture, a portrait, a drawing - carried out to order by the master craftsman of Montegrappa using the traditional manual technique of burin engraving: a work which demands an artistic skill that is now extremely rare and which only the master engravers of Montegrappa are able to apply to the diminutive surfaces of writing instruments. The engraving is an authentic work of art, executed by a steady, expert hand directly on the surface of the pen. Engraving of various depths is carried out using the skill of the artist, who successfully transfers to the gold the details of any design that the client may desire, a true work of miniaturisation. A work of art signed by the master engraver.

 

The barrel and cap of the Portrait Pen are worked with diamond engraving of extraordinary depth, thus creating a special type of decoration which further sets off the oval area of the personalised engraving in this way the picture stands out against the gold of the pen as a brilliant, unmistakable signature.

There is a further space reserved on the cap for a second engraving, a dedication, a phrase or a symbol.

Portrait Pen is enshrined in an elegant presentation case made of walnut root, which conceals with sophisticated discretion the excitement of the unique and precious object it contains. Each Portrait Pen takes two months to create; it is made exclusively to order and will consequently be produced in a very limited number of examples.
