The "rococo muse" supported, among others, promising writers such as Voltaire and musicians such as the young Mozart. She also played a crucial role in founding the French porcelain factory in Sevres, and gave creative building projects in Paris, such as the Place de la Concorde.

The splendid gold-plated barrel and mountings of Edition 4810 represent the luxury of court life at Versailles. The cap, made of fine Meissen porcelan and decorated with a hand-painted, sepia-colored rose finished in gold, recalls the Marquise's love of porcelain. As a tribute to the age in which she lived, the 18-carat gold nib is decorated by a delicate engraving typical of the rococo style. Edition 888 pays a special tribute to the Marquise de Pompadour both the cap of this fine pen - which is lovingly decorated with a hand-painted motif of the Marquise - and the barrel, which is also hand-painted with a delicate pattern of flowers, are made of Meissen porcelain. All mountings in this Limited Edition are of 750 solid gold.
