Visconti Fortune Dragon

These windows, pasted with paper to keep out the cold and winter winds, were such every day items that ancient artists incorporated traditional, writing characters into ornate patterns where each design held specific symbolic meanings. One of the most beautiful of these designs, and the core of the engraving of the most recent Visconti masterpiece, is an ancient Chinese character signifying "happiness" This is a very commonly used word in Chinese society, especially when referring to events and circumstances relating to the wedding ceremony. In ancient times, affluent Chinese people had this symbol engraved on precious jade pieces, using them as good-luck charms, and wearing them on their belts for good luck and protection against evil Chinese symbols of good luck make up the core of the design the Dragon, a functional clip, with its ruby eyes, engravings filled in gold and last, but not least, the body in red/black mottled ebonite, designed in the shape of the "Temple of Heaven" in Beijing.

Visconti named our their creation "The Fortune Dragon" hoping it will bring its users the same good luck and protection promised by this ancient symbol. Limited edition of 188 fountain pens in red/black mottled ebonite and 18 kt. gold with rubies inside the clip and limited edition of 888 fountain pens in red/black mottled ebonite and vermeil with diamonds inside the clip.
