The Visconti Giacomo Casanova The Erotic Art Pen  Fountain Pen honoring the Erotic Art Museum in Hamburg and the 200th anniversary of Giacomo Casanova.

St. Pauli, Reeperbahn, the world famous "Red Light District" of the north German town Hamburg, formerly founded as a free trade area out of town, it is now deeply embedded into the town, at the river Elbe.

The liberal laws of the zone still exist, the main business still is focused on "Love for Sale". But more and more other successful operations were developed during the last twenty years.

The Musical Cats, a Cabaret, various clubs, offering "only" music attract the youth in growing numbers. Fifty million tourists per year, and most of them take a walk on the Reeperbahn, to get in touch with the air of the red light district. The very successful TV Production "The King of Sankt Pauli" focused on today's St. Pauli and all the men in power behind the curtains. In real life, Claus Becker is one of these Lords of Sankt Pauli.

Hist first money he made as a shipbroker, then in 1985 started to invest in property, bought houses in the district, restored them and suddenly gave a new, surprising touch to the quarter. Klaus Becker did not only acquire a good proportion of houses in the area, he also collects any type of antiquities, be it of erotic appeal or not. IN 1992 his huge collection of erotic art, real aesthetic art by the way, was arranged to become the first Erotic Art Museum of Hamburg. It was located in an old, fully restored red brick warehouse from the 19th century at the riverside. In early spring of 1997, this complete museum was moved from the Bernhard Nocht Strasse 69 into the real heart of St. Pauli, in the middle of the nightly flood of tourists from all over the world: the Reeperbahan!

The world famous architects Alsop & Stoermer of London has rebuilt a former hat production site, where the continuously growing collection of erotic art is now shown on more then 3.000 sqm. The suddenly empty building in Bernhard Nocht Strasse is now supposed to stage "private art" and it was a kind of Lucky Strike that Claus Becker exactly in this moment was approached by Friedrich C: Jensen and Tom Westerich.

As a result, the first exhibition within the new "privartmuseum" was to be the International pen exhibition "Lust beim Schreiben" (literlly translated "Lust whie writing….") showing a mixture of historic Pens, ephera ads and autographs of famous historic persons. The whole groundfloor was turned into a pen museum. Here within this sensual environment, Visconti was asked to develop the Erotic Art Pen.

The first prototypes were presented during the exhibition, but the instant success of the pen and it's concept forced Visconti to develop a bigger international edition. Now, in may 1998, Visconti will present the final version of the pen, honoring the Erotic Art Museum in Hamburg as well as the one famous erotic artist, Giacomo Casanova, who in 1998 would have been 200 years old.
