Montblanc Rotary Centennial 100 Limited Edition Fountain Pen

When on the 23rd February 1905 the attorney Paul Harris founded a club in Chicago together with three business friends with the aim of recapturing the spirit of friendship among the people of his home town, he probably had no inkling of what these first meetings were to develop into. The formerly small club, which Harris christened “Rotary” because of the rotating meeting locations, has grown into one of the largest transnational and politically neutral associations in the world. 1.2 million members in some 31,000 Rotary clubs in over 165 countries around the world are united in their common motto: “Service Above Self”. Humanitarian aid, conflict resolution, commitment to ethical standards, understanding among nations and peace, and the fight against poverty, violence and illiteracy – every Rotarian feels actively obligated to all these tasks, be it on a local level or in interaction with the internationally distinguished Rotary Foundation. The goal is to help turn the world into a better place through personal commitment and involvement.

Tribute to a truly great anniversary- The Rotary Centennial Limited Edition 100.  For 100 years, Rotary has been building bridges between different cultures, sponsoring educational programmes and actively working to combat illiteracy. Montblanc is paying the highest tribute to this philanthropic mission with an exclusive writing instrument: the Rotary Centennial Limited Edition 100. The peaceful coexistence of various cultures, one of the Rotary Club’s most important missions, is symbolized by the design of the pen’s body and cap, on which 18-carat white gold and dark black blend into one harmonious ensemble. The years of the Rotary Club’s found and 100th anniversary are finely engraved opposite one another on the cap and holder. This interweaving of past and present continues in the masterful rendering of the Rotary Club logo on the clip and the engraving of the very first club emblem on the 18-carat gold nib. The mother of pearl Montblanc star on the top of the cap adds the crowning touch to this limited edition writing instrument, issued in honour of the Rotary Club International’s 100th anniversary.
